Artists Statement

"I started painting when in the West of Ireland, as a holiday painter. I was unable to start my own business in Ireland, so after 14 years, and with promises of freelance design work, moved back as a family and settled in Kenilworth. Business was good for me until the advent of computerised drafting. I started painting more obtaining house portrait commissions and selling views of local buildings. Nowadays I can spend more time experimenting with different painting and drawing techniques, painting and sketching in Europe and around the UK. Currently fascinated by the wonderful new architecture in London and details of crumbling medieval churches in the Cotswolds and France.  My wife and I have a French Son in law, so have been holidaying with them in the area his family is living, ie The Vosge, Eastern France, a lot of crumbling stone towns, off the tourist track, which I have been sketching recently, I have 3 French paintings in the cafe, and a lot more in the pipeline.
