Description
Abstract style, brightly coloured, with strong elemental lines and delicate, subtle areas. The drum is a primitive instrument; we have a primal response to it. Stretched skins of dead things over hollow and it with bones or beaters. Practically all cultures use the drum to evoke trance or dance. From Inuit shaman to Brazilian samba bands. The circle with a line vertically through it is now a symbol for an on/ off switch.
