Description

This is my B-side to Ralph McTell's 'Streets of London'.

Let me take you by the hand
And lead you through the streets of Loudun
I'll show you something
To make you change your mind.

In exactly what way your mind might be changed, I really could not say. And in this case, as with many other such meanders, it's not entirely clear who is doing the leading. Given the taughtness of the leash, my money would be on the dog. The many crooked and narrow streets of Loudun, unlike many other such medieval remnants, are not at all gloomy. All are redeemed by the loving sun of western France reflecting along lightly coated or butter-coloured stonework.
This is a relief print pulled from an engraving in rubber.
