I have always been surrounded by art as both my parents were artists and so there was never any doubt which path my career would follow. I gained my degree in Fashion and Textiles, at what is now De Montfort University, and worked first as a fashion designer and then as an art lecturer for many years. Since retiring from teaching, my creativity has continued through painting, drawing,collage and ceramics, as well as textiles.
I am attracted to the satisfying forms found in natural and still life subjects and to the simplicity and comfort of familiar objects. I also have a great love of landscape and I am particularly drawn by the distant horizons of seascapes and mountains, inspired by visits to the west coasts of Ireland and Scotland, north Cornwall and Devon.
