Description
Contemporary art based on Aztec Mythology in a Street/Subway Art style. Aztecs had rituals honouring death and the cyclical nature of life. One festival dedicated to Mictecacihuatl the Goddess of the underworld, included offerings of food and flowers, especially Marigolds - flowers of the dead. These Aztec rituals were subsequently blended with Spanish Catholic influences forming the celebrations of Dia de los Muertos - Day of the Dead
