Description
This small monotype features a pear tree in blossom against a bright blue sky. The tree has a brown trunk and thin branching limbs. The loose spattered white marks give an impression of blossoms and petals floating around the branches. The background features textured gradations of blue, suggesting a bright, windy day. Overall the style is painterly and slightly abstract, evoking a blossoming tree in spring.
Thee piece is part of a series of monotypes of spring blossoming trees, seen in my neighbours small orchard. Produced using a simple palette of blue and brown on Kent paper, it is in a wide white mount, ready for the buyer to frame.
