Description

Drag Queen on the Rocks is an allegorical print by Tim Southall. It depicts a drag queen focusing all her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent on negotiating a very rocky and uneven landscape. The title alone suggests that it might be all over for the Drag Queen: she is in difficulty and likely to fail; in tatters, ruined, and perhaps beyond repair. But never underestimate a drag queen. The fact that she has the nerve to wear stiletto heels while rock climbing in crinoline frock may seem preposterous, but it says something about her mettle. She is fearless and a force to be reckoned with and will overcome everything life throws at her.
