This piece was created as part of my "Days Like These" exhibition: portraits of lockdown mothers, based on existing paintings of women by male painters. This particular piece was based on Sargent's "Nonchaloir (Repose)" 1911. These pieces aimed to tell the sitters' stories, giving the narrative back to the female subjects.
