Chris Hankey is willing to accept commissions

I have a fascination and awe of nature, weather, watching winter storms, and observing the universe through my telescope, being an amateur astronomer and member of C.O.S.M.O.S. Community Observatory, St. Martin’s Isles of Scilly, offering star gazing and solar observing sessions throughout the year, drawing what I see through the telescopes we have, especially the Moon.

I am a keen cyclist and organise long-distance cycle touring journeys, drawing and painting the landscapes and seascapes as I travel. My last tour was with my son and lasted nine months, three of which we spent in Iceland cycle touring the ring road and crossing the centre twice. This was a self-organised and a self-funded touring artist in residence, where I documented the journey through sketchbooks, post-tour paintings and created temporary stone balance sculptures along the way.

Having this constant interaction with nature has had a profound effect on my philosophical outlook. A view that developed
