My paintings are inspired by the movement of light and weather over land, sea and sky. I don’t usually plan my paintings in advance, but work intuitively, especially in the early stages, allowing images to emerge during the painting process which I later refine.

I take much inspiration from my past travels through Scotland, Wales, northern England and further afield to mainland Europe and New Zealand. My home in borderlands between England and Wales also provide a continual source of images and ideas, with their ancient and beautiful hills, valleys, woodlands, history and legends.

My paintings have found homes in many different parts of the world including Scandinavia, Peru and USA.
